the petals are edible. But I think there are different types and I'm not sure all of them are edible - I would check elsewhere before you eat them!

So what more unusual plants have you tried? And did they grow OK? This year I'm trying: strawberry spinnach (you eat the leaves like spinnach and the fruit like strawberries) jersey walking stick kale (grows 2m high) asparagus lettuce (when it bolts you eat the stems like asparagus) but I wont know ...

slugs

They've eaten all my courgette plants already this year. Anyone got any tips for getting rid of them? So far I've tried beer traps (which work a bit), eggshells (which dont seem to work at all) and protecting plants with plastic bottle cloches (just tried that so dont know if its going to work yet)....
