Plagues of Asian Lady Beetles

Postby MurderHeWrote on Fri Nov 06, 2009 9:32 pm

Has anyone else noticed the explosion in the population of Asian Lady Beetles this fall?

While my cousin was preparing the family farm for sale, last month, a plague of Asian Lady Beetles descended on the farm from the soybean fields that were being harvested around the property. I read that soybean crops were being infested with aphids this year and the lady beetles were flocking to the fields to devour them.

Well upon harvesting, the farm house was besieged with them. There were hundreds upon hundreds of them in all of the rooms of the house. I never saw anything like it in my life.

Hmm...I don't think we have them here. It sounds almost as much fun as the time an entire carpenter ant's nest decided to hold its nuptial flight in my living room.
